About Kathryn Akers: 

Kathryn Akers joined the Honors Residential College staff in July 2026 as the Residence Hall Director. Kathryn earned her BA in Human Development and Family Studies, Pre-Certification in 2024 at Anderson University in South Carolina. She then moved to Waco in July of 2024 to pursue her MSEd in Higher Education and Student Affairs at Baylor University, which she recently completed in May 2026.  

With four years of experience working in residence life departments, Kathryn is excited to continue her journey of serving and caring for others through residence life work. She looks forward to being a part of the HRC family and the ability to pour into the HRC community of residents, CLs and professional staff. In her free time, Kathryn enjoys spending time in nature, running, reading, working on a craft, cooking and baking, watching college football, and spending time with family and friends.
